The brief
The Alliance Française de Sendai needed a website as bilingual and welcoming as the association itself — fast, easy for the team to update, and built to last, without the maintenance and security headaches that come with WordPress.
A Grav template, made to measure
I built them a custom Grav theme. Grav is a flat-file CMS and a faster, more secure alternative to WordPress: no database to breach, no plugin sprawl, pages served as static-fast files. The template is tailored to their brand, so the team edits plain content while the site stays coherent on its own.
Multilingual and a CDN, out of the box
The site ships with a fully featured, multilingual CDN — French and Japanese served quickly to visitors on both sides of the world. An optimised Instagram feed add-on pulls their latest posts and reels straight onto the site, so the homepage stays current with no manual updates.
